Sorry I haven't been updating the site as frequently as I should. Ashlee's babies are all doing great - 4 out of 6 have folded ears now (orange cream male shorthair, orange cream/white male shorthair, blue/white female shorthair, black/white female shorthair). Pixies babies are growing fatter by the day - we still have another week before their ears fold.

Sara is finally in labor this morning - I have never seen such a big pregnant girl. Can't imagine how many babies she'll have, but hopefully not too many and they'll all be big and fat. Not her first delivery, so she should come through just fine.

I'll be sure to get updated kitten pictures taken this weekend for the website, so check back to see how cute the little guys are!

Ashlee's kittens are doing good, but the little tortie girl is not getting enough to eat. The two boys in the litter don't care if they have just had a meal, they are going to have another one! So I gave the tortie girl to Pixie who welcomed her with open paws. Hopefully she'll get enough to eat now.

Pixie had her babies! After waiting several days and beginning to wonder if our calculations were completely off, she had 2 BIG babies. A boy and a girl. The boy is solid blue, the girl is blue and white. Kittens and Mom are doing fantastic.

Ashlee ended up having 6 darling little babies. 2 are orange, 1 is black and white, 1 is blue and white, 1 is a tortie, and 1 is a silver tabby! They should all be short haired kittens since both parents have short hair. Mother and babies are doing fabulous! Check back often for updated pictures.

This morning when I left for work I thought Ashlee was going to have her babies. As I write this, she hasn't yet, but I'm anxiously waiting for word from my husband about her! Check back, I'll have it posted as soon as she does have any, and get pictures up ASAP - just remember it takes 3 weeks for their little ears to fold!

The site is still under construction, but my good friend Amy had been doing a fabulous job at keeping everything updated for me. Thanks to her for the terrific job on the site - and for actually creating the site!

My husband delivered one kennel to the SGF Airport (Delta) to ship - the flight was leaving at 11:25 AM so he was at the airport at 9:25 AM and had absolutely NO PROBLEMS shipping! Yay!

April 14th, 2008

I delivered two kennels to the SGF Airport (Delta) to ship - the flight was leaving at 7:25 AM so I was there at 5:15 AM. I was in line with all the 'passengers' and when my turn came at the counter I was asked to step aside so they could wait on their 'customers' first. I didn't raise a fuss, but moved to the side and waited some more. At 6:00 AM I was finally waited on, and my two kennels were shipped for me.

I delivered two kennels to the SFG Airport (Delta) to ship - the flight was leaving at 7:25 AM so I was there at 5:15 AM. After a short wait in line, my turn came. As soon as I gave the personnel my name, they said 'Oh, someone should have called you last night - but that flight has been delayed until 11:45 AM!' So I was sent home with my two kennels to come back to the airport at 9:45 AM.

At 9:45 AM I was back at the airport. I waited until my turn came, and handed the kennels over to the personnel and completed the paperwork for the shipment.

At 2:30 PM someone from the airport called me, and advised me that the flight did not leave at 11:45 AM, and had been delayed again. They said since it was delayed so long, the kennels would not be able to make the connecting flight in Atlanta, so I needed to come and pick them up and re-schedule my shipment.

Our little Pudgy baby ended up with straight ears - but he's still adorable. His Momma sure loves him, and he's the most spoiled rotten kitten I have seen in a while. Certain to be a character when he gets older.

Ashlee and Pixie are both on maternity watch now. Ashlee's technical due date is the 10th, so it could be any time! She is big and fat, and no telling how many little darlings she'll have. Pixie isn't as big around, but she's showing really well, and doing just fine. Her babies are due around the 20th.

Lily is still with us - she is ready to go to her new home after her emergency spay - her babies are on their own now. Drop me a line if you are interested in adding her to your home.

Well, we have survived the flooding of the century! We had water running through the middle of our barn, and across our back yard about 7 inches deep, but we didn't have any serious damage. Everything is a muddy mess, but the last two days with temps around 65 have helped to slow the flow!

The cats are doing fabulous. Lily has completely recovered from her surgery and her kittens are starting to eat solid food and learning about the litterbox. Sweet Pea is having a blast with her only baby boy, who we've nicknamed 'Pudge' because he's so fat. Will keep you posted on what his ears do, and let you know when Ashlee and Pixie have their little darlings!

Well, we've lost another of Sweet Pea's babies - it seems that she is so full of milk they can't nurse on her, and I'm afraid her milk may be drying up. The one baby that is left is nice and fat, and has been the entire time since birth, so hopefully he'll hang in there. Supplemental feeding doesn't seem to have helped any, and I may try to give Sweet Pea's lone baby boy to Lily and see if she can care for him since her babies are starting to wean.

Sweet Pea's first day as a mother has been disappointing. She has lot 3 of her 5 babies - by sleeping on top of them. The other two are hanging on. We're hoping they will pull through, and maybe as time goes on she'll figure out what it means to be a mother!

We had a surprise last night! Sweet Pea had 5 babies!! They are looking good and we think that she is going to be a great first-time mommy. Two are brown tabby/white patched and two are black & white patched. We will post pictures soon!

Also, both of Lily's boys have folded and are doing great! They are so cute!

Pictures are now available for Retired Breeders, just click on Lily or Ellie Mae's button to see additional photos.

We also have three litters due in April! And, Lily's two boys are fat and happy and doing great. One has already folded and we will know if the other one has when we get back from our trip. Reece's babies are causing mischief all over the house and are just a joy to be around! Their new favorite toy is a paper bag, because when you pounce on it, it makes a fun crunchy sound.

February 20th, 2008
Unforutnately with the infection, three of Lily's kittens didn't make it, but the two boys that are left are thriving. We will have updated information about them on the Available Kittens page soon.

Lily delivered 5 darling babies!

She didn't recover from the delivery as well as she has in the past, and was acting strange, so I hurried to the veterinarian's office this morning. As it turns out, she had Pyometra, an infection of the uterus. My vet said this was probably caused by one of the kittens dying in-utero and not being re-absorbed. After she delivered her kittens, the infection got worse, and she needed to have a complete hysterectomy/spay.

She will be home this evening, and the veterinarian's office reports that she is doing fine, as are her new babies.

Reece & Blue had 4 kittens today!

Welcome to the NEW Featherchase Folds Cattery website!

We are trying to get each section available as soon as possible.

December 2007
We had additions to our cattery from the Weelugz Cattery based in Alabama. We acquired Pixie, Bonkers, Sweet Pea and Sassy for our breeding program.

October 14th, 2007
We met with a film crew from the program Animal Atlas for filming on a show they are producing to be aired in 2008. They are supposed to let me know when the show will be aired, and I'll be sure to keep it updated on the date/time so everyone can watch! I took Trisha and her 5 babies and she was the perfect mother and nursed her babies for the camera and there was some adorable footage shot of the babies. Several older kittens were filmed playing and being crazy chasing a laser pointer, too.
